About The Author: Jonathan Haidt
American social psychologist, author, and professor of ethical leadership at the Stern School of Business at New York University, Jonathan David Haidt was born on October 19, 1963. His primary research interests are in moral psychology and moral emotions.
The psychological discipline of moral foundations theory, which seeks to explain the evolutionary origins of human moral reasoning on the basis of instinctive, gut impulses rather than logical reason, is where Haidt has made the majority of his research contributions. Later, the idea was expanded to describe the various moral justifications and how they relate to political ideology, with various political philosophies emphasizing various sets of morals. Future works on a variety of subjects were built on the findings.
